A seasoned veteran of Vidal Sassoon Beverly Hills, Robert James has designed many an iconic hair color for some of the biggest names in Hollywood, including Gwen Stefani, Alyssa Milano and Kelly Osborne. Having first opened his own salon in San Francisco in 2007, this hair color apothecary is thrilled to continue to bring exceptional service to his clients at the Robert James Color location on Sutter Street near Union Square.
In addition to his unparalleled talent for hair color, Robert James is also a master at naturally applied hair extensions for volume, length and color enhancement , as well as Brazilian Blowouts, re-texturizing, deep conditioning, and much more. He devotes ample time to work one-on-one with his clients to determine the hair design strategy that is right for them, and he is able to achieve one-of-a-kind looks that inspire clients to feel revitalized and renewed.

The 1300-square-foot space, painted in avocado-like shades and accented with animated paintings by LA-based pop artist Nelson De La Nuez, combines youthful energy with professional standards.
